The EDFC Adobe Filmmaker Grant Program is an exciting opportunity for EDFC alumni to expand their EDFC short films into larger formats. This program aims to support and empower disabled filmmakers in their creative endeavors.

Grant Details:

Selection Process:

  • Projects will be reviewed by industry professionals.
  • Finalists will be notified and will have a Zoom interview with Selection Committee.
  • Projects will be evaluated equally, based on creative merit, feasibility, and alignment with the Grant Program’s focus.

Program Benefits:

  • Ongoing mentorship and educational sessions
  • Bi-weekly, occurring every two weeks, check-ins with EDFC Grant Staff
  • Budget and schedule review
  • Participation in the Pitch Showcase to a room full of industry professionals and executives

Requirements:

  • Must be an EDFC alumni
  • Agree to participate fully, and to the best of your ability, in the Program Benefits (see above)
  • Be willing to travel to Los Angeles to be in person at the Pitch Showcase, currently scheduled for mid-November 2025
  • Grantees from prior EDFC Adobe Filmmaker Grant Programs may apply
  • Person submitting the application must have a disability and be the project/team representative. If you do not have a disability, you must have a disabled collaborator, who will be required to participate in the Grant Program.
  • Highly recommended that Applicant be available for a potential interview currently scheduled for March 23rd, 24th and 25th

Timeline:

  • Submission Deadline: March 7, 2025
  • Grant Recipients Announced: at 2025 EDFC Award Show on May 8, 2025
  • Grant Program Completion: December 31, 2025

The EDFC Adobe Filmmaker Grant Program, alongside The Easterseals Disability Film Challenge and EDFC Education workshops, aims to:

  • Serve a diverse community of disabled artists
  • Provide tools, resources, and recognition for success in the entertainment industry
  • Break down barriers in disability representation on-screen and behind the scenes
  • Create lasting change in how disability is portrayed and understood in film and media
  • Create opportunities for disabled artists in front of and behind the camera.
  • Introduce EDFC filmmakers and participants to the filmmaking industry and entertainment community
  • Further develop EDFC projects with the goal of turning them into films or TV series
  • We invite all eligible EDFC alumni to apply and take their storytelling to the next level!
